Messy Church

A meal, a message and possibly a mess!

Messy Matts is designed for children and their families. Think of it as a church for families who find it hard to get to ‘real’ church on Sunday. A typical service will include craft activities, a short celebration and a meal together.

What is Messy Matts?
Messy Church is a global movement that started in the UK in 2004. Having spread to many parts of the world, there are now more than 175,000 people worldwide who regularly attend Messy Church.
At St Matthews, every Messy Matts service is different, but we always have the same aims in mind when planning activities. These are:
To eat, drink and share fellowship together
To enable people to have fun and be creative
To help people of all ages to feel like they belong in church
To introduce Jesus through hospitality, friendship, stories and activities
