Bishop John Roundhill, Bishop of the Southern Region, will be visiting St Matthew’s on Sunday 7 July. Bishop John thoroughly enjoyed his first visit to the parish last year for the Patronal Feast of St Matthew. On that occasion, he baptised one adult and confirmed another group of our young adolescents. The occasion was also a celebration of 100 years of Anglican ministry in Holland Park and the 60th Anniversary of the Dedication of the current St Matthew’s Church building.
This year, things will be a little more low key, but it will still feature the inspirational singing of the choir and congregation at our 9am Holy Communion Service and it will be a great opportunity for people to become more acquainted with Bishop John. No doubt, he will be able to share stories from his remarkable Holy Week walk earlier this year from Milton to Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
Bishop John will preside and preach at the 9am Service on Sunday 7 July. Take this opportunity to reconnect with your local Anglican parish.
