St Matthews has purchased the stunning Content Chapel 236 electronic organ. It has the sound, and even the vibration, of a genuine pipe organ. To celebrate, and to show off the scope of this instrument we have invited Dr Steven Nisbet OAM to give a recital on it.

Bach to Bacharach will show off the quality and versatility of the instrument.

St Matthew’s Church Choir will also sing as part of the recital.

Steven Nisbet is one of Brisbane’s best organists and was formerly the organist and director of music at St Andrew’s Uniting Church for 41 years until 2020. He is currently the organist for the Pilgrim People Brisbane.

Steven is a composer and records original as well as classic works for the organ on his YouTube channel.

A student of Brisbane’s Robert Boughen he has taught many of Brisbane’s organists, including St Matthew’s current organist.
